About Attorney Matthew C. Autry

I was born & raised in the Fayetteville, Cumberland County area, and I’m proud to call it home. After graduating from Cape Fear High School in 1999, I attended East Carolina University and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Thereafter I traveled across the state to the City of Asheville, where I served as a police officer with the City of Asheville for nearly five years.

While policing full-time, I attended graduate school at Western Carolina University. I graduated in 2008 earning a Master of Public Affairs degree with a perfect GPA.

With my law school plans set, I then resigned from the city as a Senior Police Officer having already attained the coveted Advanced Law Enforcement Training Certificate.

I enrolled in law school at the Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law located in downtown Raleigh. I gained restricted access during my various externships with the NC Supreme Court, NC Dep’t of Justice and City of Raleigh.

I performed well in law school, earning and accepting an invitation to serve on the coveted Campbell Law Review. In 2011, I graduated in the top one-third of my class and successfully completed the state bar examination in my first sitting.
